Roots and threads is what binds us to a place, to the land, nourishing us as we grow toward freedom. I love threads, I’ve always loved threads. I need to be consistent. I never was. I’ve always been spontaneous but it took me down a few times. Now, we need to remember our roots, we need to remember that we all have roots and without roots there is no soil, only empty desert. I remember my roots because I see how essential it is to remember. In a land of so many people with their roots in so many places, on a land of people whose roots are here, I remember my roots and the connections between all of us. It unites me with everybody as roots united the soil, intertwined so tightly they form a solid ground where we all can rest.
