Masha Lamzina is an interdisciplinary artist working with textiles, installations and clothing with a focus on prints, stencilling and graphic patterns. Masha is also a fashion and textile designer, creating artisanal and one-of-a-kind garments which correspond to the themes of her art projects, often using fragments and elements of her artworks as prints on clothes. Masha uses printing techniques such as hand-bleaching, cyanotype, eco-printing and also many other textile craft techniques such as quilting, collage, patchwork, embroidery, weaving e.t.c in her various projects.
With her professional background as a graphic designer, Masha also creates digital and analogue collages utilizing her own photographs and artworks. Masha was a finalist of ITS (International Talent Support) competition for fashion designers twice in 2005 and 2009 and received the Fashion Special Prize in ITS #8. Also as a result of her participation, she had a 3-month internship at John Galliano fashion house in the spring of 2006. Currently she lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.
