I created this outfit to represent the ‘Far Eastern striped ninja’ style! The costume consists of heavily decorated quilted top with crocheted butterfly sleeves, loose pants and striped pilot bonnet hat. I love vertical red striped patterns as long as I can remember myself, so when I saw this fabric in Dongdaemun market in Seoul, I immediately decided to create something from it. By creating the top, I was inspired by the mattress ticking fabric and traditional crafting techniques. That is why I decorated the front and back of it with machine embroideries and crocheted sculptural sleeves from cotton.
