Japanese design was always a vast source of inspiration for me. Perhaps it could be connected with me in terms of geographical position as I was born and live close to the Sea of Japan. Last year I was looking for some inspiration on Fish design on Pinterest and found this brilliant Japanese fish soap design and couldn’t resist to try it as a print on this grey jacket.
Each detail of the jacket was printed separately, even a strap on the front which covers a zipper. It is made of plain grey cotton fabric and I have machine quilted it with vertical stripes, which is a reference to oriental Japanese and Chinese kimonos. The jacket has wide cut and elongated sleeves.
